What I Didn’t Learn In Church

What am I doing in this career? was a question Rebecca Hitchcock faced after years of working in the fashion industry. So many years in a space that defined one's value and worth by their appearance had taken a toll. The superficiality of her job led her to dig back into the roots of her childhood faith. She wanted more, and before she knew it, found herself leading a Bible study of women who wanted the same. What she didn't expect was to uncover multiple biblical truths that she hadn't been taught in church.

In What I Didn't Learn in Church, Hitchcock reveals the lessons she'd learned outside the pew.

Many have gleaned precious truths of God from church experiences, but some of the most vital life-changing revelations come from outside of the normal “church” environment. What I Didn't Learn in Church will uncover lessons from God's Word that she found outside church walls in the company of like-minded friends committed to sharing life and seeking God together.

What I Didn’t Learn In Church is a must-read for anyone who has struggled and wondered where God is in it all. This book will make you think, laugh, and cry and most importantly make you realize that you are not alone.”

About Rebecca

Rebecca Hitchcock’s journey began in the city of Chicago during her late twenties, where she served as Fashion Director at Marshall Field’s. Things looked great on paper: a wonderful husband, a budding family, and a career that took her around the globe to meet fashion’s most influential figures. Yet, despite the worldly success, something was missing.

Raised in a Christian home and active in church, Rebecca leaned on her faith in her search for answers. She joined a women's Bible study group, where she and other women began to uncover profound insights about their identity in Christ. She was astonished to realize that — despite a lifetime of church involvement — this was the first time that she was discovering these transformative biblical truths.

Rebecca knew that she was not alone. Recognizing that many women shared her experience, she spent over two decades leading women's groups across the Midwest, dedicated to uncovering and embracing the freedom found in God’s Word. Inspired by these experiences, Rebecca authored "What I Didn't Learn in Church," a compilation of Biblical lessons and scriptural truths that she and other women learned outside the pew.

Now residing in Carmel, IN, Rebecca is a devoted wife of more than 30 years to her husband Cam, a loving mother to five grown children, and a proud grandmother to two grandsons. Her work continues to inspire and uplift, pointing women to the transformative power of Christ in their lives.
